<note>This research aims to analyze the grieving process experienced by themain character, Georgie, in the film Scrapper (2023), following the death of hermother. The study is guided by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s Five Stages of Grieftheory to examine how Georgie moves through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. In addition, Ainsworth’s Attachment Theory isapplied to understand the evolving relationship between Georgie and herestranged father, Jason, and how this bond contributes to her emotional healing. Freud’sstructural model of the psyche id, ego, and superego is also used toexplore Georgie’s unconscious drives and defense mechanisms in her copingbehaviors. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method withpsychological criticism as the approach. The findings reveal that Georgieundergoes a nonlinear grieving process. Initially, she exhibits denial byconstructing false narratives and avoiding her mother’s death. She shows angerthrough defensive behavior and emotional outbursts, and engages in bargainingthrough symbolic actions and hopeful fantasies. As her grief deepens, sheisolates herself and demonstrates signs of depression, often replaying videos ofher mother. Eventually, through the reestablishment of emotional attachmentwith her father, Georgie begins to open up and accept her loss. Throughconsistent emotional presence and shared experiences, Georgie's relationshipwith her father gradually changed from mistrust to secure attachment, whichplayed a significant role in her emotional recovery. The study concludes that thecombination of grief stages, attachment repair, and internal conflict reflects acomplex but human grieving journey in childhood.
