This research aims to analyze: 1) Anorexia Nervosa symptoms reflected inMarti Noxon’s To the Bone (2017), and 2) the mental condition of the maincharacter who suffers from Anorexia Nervosa in Marti Noxon’s Tothe Bone (2017). This research uses a qualitative method to analyze the film To the Bone (2017) directed by Marti Noxon, as the object of research. The data collectionmethods include watching, identifying, classifying, and selecting. The researcherutilizes Sigmund Freud’s theory of Personality to analyze the data through thesteps of displaying, explaining, and interpreting.The result of this research shows that: 1) the representation of AnorexiaNervosa’s symptoms in Marti Noxon’s To the Bone (2017), including id-drivensymptoms in Ellen, ego and defensive mechanism, and superego and moralpressure, 2) the mental condition of the main character who suffers from AnorexiaNervosa, including internal conflict between id, ego, and superego, identity crisis,and possibility of recovery.
