This study examines the psychological reactions ofUNSIQ students who have watched The Nun 2 (2023), a horrorfilm featuring intense supernatural elements and emotionallyprovoking scenes. This study seeks to determine the impact ofThe Nun 2 on the psychological state of the audience and howmovie elements, such as sound effects, lighting, and jump scares, contribute to their emotional responses. The study utilizes amixed-method descriptive qualitative design, combiningquantitative data from Likert-scale questionnaires and qualitativedata from narrative responses. The primary theoretical approachused is the phenomenological approach, which seeks to exploreaffective experiences and subjective experiences of the audience. Thefindings suggest that the film elicits a series of reactions suchas fear, tension, chills, and personal reflection. A few participantsreported lingering psychological effect after viewing, includinginsomnia, heightened awareness in the dark, and intrusivethinking regarding the character Valak. On the other hand, someviewers reported spiritual awareness and inner strength. Thisstudy suggests that horror films can influence not only emotionalstates, but also provoke deeper psychological responses in youngaudiences.
