The Background of this research to enhance the English readingabilities of fifth grade students at MI Rifa’iyah Limpung byimplementing Project-Based Learning (PBL). The study employeda classroom action research (CAR) design and used a mixedmethodsapproach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting ofplanning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Quantitative data wereobtained from students’ reading scores before and afterimplementing PBL. Qualitative data were collected throughclassroom observations, student and teacher interviews, anddocumentation of student project work. The findings showed thatstudents' reading scores improved in each cycle. Additionally, qualitative data revealed that students became more motivated andengaged in reading activities when learning was connected tomeaningful projects. They demonstrated improved comprehension, greater vocabulary usage, and increased confidence in readingaloud. These results suggest that Project-Based Learning, whenapplied through CAR, can effectively improve elementarystudents' English reading skills and participation in learning.
