    Listening and speaking are among the four essential languageskills which have to be mastered by an individual in order tocommunicate effectively. These two skills complement each other, especially in verbal communication, as listening plays a crucialrole in shaping one’s ability to responds accurately andappropriately in communication. Therefore, it is important toimprove both listening and speaking ability. This study aims tointroduce listening journal as a practical tool in language teachingto enhance students’ speaking abilities. The research discusseshow the habits of listening positively impacts on students’speaking skills. Many students struggle with pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension due to insufficient exposure ofstructured listening practice. This study employs classroom actionresearch design to explore the experience, perceptions and insightsof eleventh grade high school students who engage in structurallistening exercises while maintaining reflective journals to tracktheir progress and challenges. Data collection methods include pretest, post-test, interview, observation and content analysis of thelistening journals. Participant of this research are selected usingpurposive sampling methods to capture a diverse range ofperspective and experience in language learning. The results of theListening Journal implementation indicate a notable improvementin students’ speaking performance and learning motivation. Itsupports the conclusion that Listening Journal is an effective mediato enhance booth fluency and learner autonomy. Keywords: Listening Journal, Speaking Ability, TeachingSpeaking
