This study is aim to analyze: (1) the main character navigate and fulfill various
needs to ultimately achieve self-actualization in Damsel (2024) film and (2) the main
character does to fulfill her needs in Damsel (2024) film.
This study employs a descriptive qualitative method to analyze Damsel,
directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, using Abraham Maslow's theory of self-
actualization. The data collection process includes watching, reading, identifying,
classifying, and selecting relevant scenes. The data analysis is conducted through
displaying, explaining, and interpreting.
The findings of this research reveal that: (1) the journey of the main character,
Elodie, progresses gradually from being a passive individual to becoming independent,
influenced by both internal and factors, and (2) the application of Maslow's theory (1)
Physiology Needs (2) safety need (3) love need (4) esteem need (5) self-actualizatin.

motivation motivatio and challenges that enrich the narrative. This study demonstrates
how human needs drive actions and decisions, thereby deepening the thematic elements
of the film.
