This study is aimed to analyse: (1) the efforts made by Barbie in counterBarbie stereotypes through empowerment and self-proof, as represented in the filmBarbie (2023), and (2) the effects of the Barbie stereotype on the other femalecharacter’s self image and body perception in Barbie (2023) film.The researcher uses the qualitative method to analyze the film entitledBarbie (2023) directed by Greta Gerwig as the objective research. The approachand theory that the researcher uses to analyze the data is Turkel's (1998) theory ofBarbie stereotypes.The result of this study shows that (1) the efforts made by Barbie in counterBarbie stereotypes through empowerment and self-proof, as represented in the filmBarbie (2023), are depicted through facing imperfection, facing the realities of thereal world, the discovery of idientity; and (2) the effects of the Barbie stereotype onthe other female character’s self-image and body perception in Barbie (2023) film,highlights the negative impact of unrealistic beauty standards and social pressures,as well as revealing how these stereotypes perpetuate narrow views of personalvalues, and broader potential beyond physical appearance.
