This thesis aims to analyze: 1) To explain the influence of the deaf familyon the psychological condition of the major character in the movie Coda (2021),2) to explain the struggle of the major character in overcoming his psychologicalcondition in the movie Coda (2021). This research uses a descriptive qualitativemethod to analyze the film Coda (2021), directed by Sian Heder, as the object ofresearch. Data collection methods include watching, reading, identifying,classifying, and selecting. The researcher used Sigmund Freud's theory ofPsychoanalysis to analyze the data by displaying, explaining, and interpreting it.The results of this study show that 1) the representation of the deaf family'sinfluence on the major character's psychology in the movie Coda (2021), the deaffamily's influence on Ruby's psychology includes components such as id, ego, andsuper-ego. In addition, this study identifies various forms of anxiety and egodefense mechanisms experienced by Ruby. 2) The major character's struggle toovercome her psychological condition.
