THE USE OF ROLE PLAY TECHNIQUE TO IMPROVE SPEAKING SKILL FOR SECOND GRADERS OF MA DARUL AMANAH ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL KENDAL CENTRAL JAVA

Communication skill using English are very important to learn andmaster for all groups. Especially for studentss who are attending formaleducation at school or non-formal study at islamic boarding school. As wellas In Darul Amanah Islamic Boarding School, who oblige all studentss touse English in daily life. But there are still many studentss have difficultieswhen learning English, such as difficulty speaking English. In order to solvethis issue, researcher counducted to use of Role Play technique to improvestudentss' speaking skill. This research aim to find the improvementstudentss’ speaking skill by use role play technique. The subject in thisresearch is the second graders of MA Darul Amanah Islamic BoardingSchool. The research method used was classroom action research andconducted in two cycles and the collect data are interview, observationspeaking test and documentation. The result of this research is increasingstudents speaking from the pre-test showed an mean score of pre-test 58,6on cycle I with mean score is 61 and pot-test II with mean score is 78. Theconclusion of this research is role play technique is successfull to improvestudentss’ speaking skill for the second graders of second graders of MADarul Amanah.
