<note>This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using puzzle game to improvestudents’ motivation in learning vocabulary for seventh graders at SMP TakhasusAl-Qur’an An Nida’ Selomerto Wonosobo. In this study, a quantitativeexperimental design was used with a population of 100 seventh grade students.Two classes are selected as the research objects, namely class VII D as theexperimental class (22 students) and class VII E as the control class (25 students).The results showed that the puzzle game was effective in increasing students'motivation in learning vocabulary. This can be proven by giving pre-test and posttestto class VII D and VII E. The results of the pre-test and post-test that theyhave done have increased. In class VII D, the average pre-test score was 62.3 andpost-test 84.3, while in the control class, the average pre-test score was 65.52 andpost-test 72.6. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that puzzlegames are effective in increasing students' motivation in learning vocabulary. Thisstudy shows that the use of puzzle games can increase students' motivation andimprove their ability to learn vocabulary. Therefore, puzzle games can be used asan effective media in increasing students' motivation in learning vocabulary.
