<note>The objectives of this study are to find out kinds of pronunciation errorsand analyze the cause of errors made by students. The researcher used adescriptive qualitative method design using oral test as data collection instruments.The subjects of this research were fourth grade students of Bakong Pittaya SchoolPattani, Thailand, while the sample are twelve students who met the requirements.In collecting data, the researcher asked subjects to pronounce list of words thenrecord them. After that, the researcher made transcription and analyze the databased on Surface Strategy Taxonomy of Dulay. The result shows that kinds ofpronunciation errors occur are respectively misformation, omission, addition, andmisordering. Errors found both in consonant and vowel sounds. The mostcommon errors found are misformation, then followed by omission, addition, andmisordering. The problem faced by students are caused by interlingual transfer,intralingual transfer, and communication strategy. The most significance error arecaused by intralingual transfer.
