    A MYTH OF WEREWOLF IN VIKING WOLF MOVIE (2022)

    This research focuses on the werewolf myth in Norse mythology which isrepresented in the film entitled Viking Wolf (2022). It is believed that thewerewolf originated from the Vikings who were ambitious about the power ofwolves. Through this research, researcher want to examine the werewolf myth inNorse mythology which is based on the Viking Wolf movie (2022). The aims ofthis research are; (1) to find out how the Viking Wolf movie (2022) presents thewerewolf myth, (2) to find out how blood represents the transformation processof human into a werewolf in Viking Wolf movie (2022). In this research, theresearcher applies Roland Barthes' semiotic theory as a grand theory and relevantsource related to werewolf mythology. The research method uses qualitativedescription. The data source for this research uses a film entitled Viking Wolf(2022) with research data in the form of images, dialogue, words on utterances,and sounds in the film's subtitles. The data that has been obtained will later bepresented by researchers, explained and interpreted relevantly according to thetheory used. The results of this research show that the representation of thewerewolf myth in Viking Wolf (2022), namely, the Vikings' obsession withanimal power, the full moon; the culmination of mystical power and unchangedeyes symbolize human identity and human-like werewolf. In addition, in thetransformation into a werewolf, Viking wolf (2022) represents it with blood whichis marked through dreams.
