<note>Students had difficulty mastering vocabulary, which affected their writing ability, especially in narrative texts. This was because narrative text requires more creativity and ideas to come up with the story's plot and theme, choose the right words, and make the story tell something to the reader. To solve this problem, the researcher used songs as a medium for vocabulary learning, hoped that students would get many new vocabularies and inspirations to write a narrative text based on the implied story of the song. The subject of the research was eleventh-grade of MA Muallimin Parakan. This study employed the two-cycle classroom action research methodology. Several methods, including tests (pre-test and post-test), observation, questionnaires, and interviews, were used to collect data for the study. Based on the results of the pre-test, post-test I, post-test II, and post-test III, there was a rise in the mean of students’ scores in writing narrative text and vocabulary scores. Pre-Test 58,6, Post-Test 1 65,49, and Post-test 2 73,1. In addition, using song lyrics was able improving students’ vocabulary mastery in writing narrative text.</note>
