    THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING THE GALLERY WALK TECHNIQUE TO IMPROVE STUDENTS' SPEAKING SKILL AT MTs N 2 WONOSOBO

    The purposes of this research was to obtain empirical evidence of the effectiveness of using Gallery Walk Technique on students’ speaking skills. This research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research were students of class IX-D MTs N 2 Wonosobo for the 2022/2023 academic year, which of consisted of 34 students. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data collection technique in this research used interviews, observations and test. The research findings revealed that students’ speaking skill had improved. The students’ mean score in pre-test was 57.38. The mean score in post-test 1 (cycle 1) was 74.32. The mean score in post-test 2 (cycle 2) was 80.82. this showed that the scored and mean score in the second cycle were better than the first cycle. The percentage of students who scored >78 points also increased. In the pre-test, there were 5 students (14.07%) who got points >78. In the post-test 1 (cycle 1), there were 19 students (55.88%) who got points >78. Post-test 2 (cycle) students who scored >78 there were 29 students (85.29%). In other words, the students’ ability to speak improved and became good at the first meeting until the next meeting.
