IMPROVING STUDENT'S READING COMPREHENSION BY USING LISTEN-HEAD-DISCUSS (LRD) STRATEGY AT MTSN 2 WONOSOBO

This study aims to: (1) To find out the implementation of the Listen-ReadDiscuss(LRD)strategyinimprovingthereadingcomprehensionofthestudentsofMTsNegeri 2 Wonosobo. (2) To find out if there is a difference in students'reading comprehension using the Listen-Read-Discuss (LRD) strategy andwithout using Listen-Read-Discuss (LRD). The sample of this research is the 8thgrade students of MTs N 2 Wonosobo. Samples are take using the simple randomsampling technique method. Data collection brought out by pretest and posttest inthe experimental class and control class. The statistical method usesnonparametric analysis, by testing the Wilcoxon test hypothesis. The results ofthis study are indicated by the results of the Normalized Gain Test with the scorefor the experimental class (LRD Strategy) being 62.6037 or 62% included in thecategory of moderately effective. The results show that there is a differencebetween learning using LRD and not using the LRD strategy.
